Hi! Here's my latest piece, it sure took me a long time to finish it with the move to Canada and everything in between. I had the urge to scrap it quite a few times but I resisted and thank goodness I did complete it.
No need to describe what has just happened in this image, it speaks for itself I think...!

The image that I started from can be seen here
The WIP can be seenhere
Some close ups:
Thanks to my drummer Marco as usual for putting up with me and my painting fits.
Last but not least, thank you for looking!

Ingres Master Copy

I started this painting for the Open Figure Drawing Workshop but didn't manage to finish it for the deadline. The original is a painting by Ingres, called "Princesse Albert de Broglie, née Joséphine-Eléonore-Marie-Pauline de Galard de Brassac de Béarn" (phew!).
I used the grid method to help me with the drawing and it was all painted with a Wacom graphire in Photoshop. I'm not exactly sure how long it took me because I worked on it off and on for months. But I can assure you it took many hours!! I did not start the painting in greyscale, but started immediately with color. If anyone is interested in seeing the WIP thread it can be found here:
Wacom and reference used. Reference can be seen here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/52341685/
The reference is from a stock artist called "lockstock" who can be found on deviantart.com.
I painted this entirely with photoshop cs2 and a trust tablet.
I would like to thank all the great members who gave me suggestions and support throughout the process of painting this piece in the 2d work in progress forum.
Please view the work in progress thread here !
